Make A Plan Of Action Before Engaging In A Bathroom Redesign

Tuesday, June 21st, 2011

Before embarking on a full-fledged bathroom redesign, it’s important to plan everything out.  For example, you shouldn’t just march into the bathroom, rip down walls and install new equipment in the blink of an eye.  A successful bathroom redesign requires research, planning and, of course, money before you even consider repainting the walls or installing a new bathroom vanity.  Just like one would never purchase a new or used car until they had done their research, found the best prices and made sure they were financially able to make the purchase, the same concept should be applied to a bathroom remodeling.

The first step is to make sure that you have the financial ability to purchase supplies and, potentially, an installation team if you plan on installing new features such as stone or wood flooring.  At the very least, there are some modifications and small renovation tasks that you could easily complete on your own, such as picking out and installing a modern bathroom vanity.  Picking out a bathroom vanity can be one of the most critical aspects of a remodeling project, as it sets the tone for the entire room.

In addition to bathroom vanities, painting is another area where a homeowner can really let loose.  For example, if you are working with a smaller-sized bathroom, try to focus on colors, as brighter paint tends to open up a room.  Smooth yellows, peach and light green colors are always great choices.  Experiment a bit and see what fits your exact needs.  Ultimately, whether you are looking to purchase a double vanity or just need a repainting job in the bathroom, always take the time to plan ahead for the best course of action.
